FANTASY FOOTBALL SLEEPERS TO TARGET: NUMBER 12 – MITCHELL TRUBISKY

After a less than stellar rookie campaign for Mitchell Trubisky, fantasy owners might be skeptical when it comes to drafting him. Well, I wouldn’t advise adding Trubisky to your team early on, but he’s a great middle to late round pick, depending on if your league does one or two starting quarterbacks. Even then, make him the third quarterback you select.

Trubisky threw for 2,193 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions as a rookie in 2017. The former Tar Heel did a little bit of damage on the ground too, totaling 248 yards and two touchdowns with his legs.

The Bears’ defense was top notch last year and now it’s the offense’s turn to step it up this year and Trubisky is responsible in helping that happen. We see a lot of rookie quarterbacks struggle in year one and then step up tremendously in their sophomore NFL season (Jared Goff is a good example), so Trubisky could have a much better year than expected.

While I wouldn’t grab Mitchell Trubisky any earlier than the middle rounds, he could be a nice surprise backup this season. He’ll have new weapons like Allen Robinson, Taylor Gabriel, and Trey Burton, which will only help his passing skills.
