#15 San Fransisco 49ers TE George Kittle

Last season, the 49ers traded for New England Patriots backup quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo. It seems to be a great move by an organization desperately trying to get back into the playoff conversation in 2018. Garoppolo led the team to finish with a five-game win streak to close out the 2017 season.

As we look to this season, the 49ers did little to surround Garoppolo with more receiving talent. Given the lack of top performers on the offense, the team is gambling on young playmakers to rise. One of those being second-year tight end George Kittle.

During his 2017 rookie season, Kittle collected 43 receptions for 515 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Down the final stretch of the season, the young tight end showed great chemistry with the 49ers new franchise quarterback. Of those 515 yards last season, 224 of those yards came in the final games with Garoppolo, including his first 100-yard receiving game.

Given the lack of proven talent at the wide receiver position, Kittle has a high chance of having a breakout season in 2018. The number one receiver for the 49ers is Pierre Garcon who came over from the Washington Redskins a year ago. Keep an eye on Kittle as he has the opportunity to get plenty of looks and also being the security blanket for still new quarterback Garoppolo.
