BEST GAMES OF MAHOMES’ COLLEGIATE CAREER – NUMBER 11

TEXAS TECH VS TEXAS EL PASO – SEPTEMBER 12, 2015

In an early non-conference game in 2015, Mahomes once again put on a show. Yes, it was against Texas El Paso, but a good game is a good game, right? Unlike the previous game, Mahomes really aired it out in this game, with his touchdowns coming from much further down the field.

Mahomes struck early in this one, linking up with Jakeem Grant on a 60-yard pass just minutes into the game. He later connected with Justin Stockton on a 46 yard strike down the field.

The run game opened up for Mahomes in this one too, running it in from one yard out and again from 12 yards out. He added two more passing touchdowns with a 35 yarder to Reginald Davis and a 34 yard pass to Devin Lauderdale.

What’s interesting about this game is that completion wise, Mahomes wasn’t on his mark. He still had an impressive day, throwing for multiple down the field touchdowns and rushing for a pair of scores as well. It was more than enough to give TTU a 69-20 victory over the UTEP Miners.

STATS: 18 of 33 for 361 yards, 4 passing touchdowns, 23 rushing yards, 2 rushing touchdowns
