The backup race: Jace Amaro

A former second round pick by the New York Jets, tight end Jace Amaro may be the most exciting tight end on the roster, other than Kelce. Amaro played college football at Texas Tech, and was drafted in 2014.

Amaro played two seasons with the Jets, and one with the Titans. Only 25-years old, Amaro has the potential to be a play-maker, despite his disappointing NFL career.

While with the Jets, Amaro had 38 receptions, for 345 yards, and two touchdowns. With the Titans, Amaro had only three receptions for 59 yards, and zero touchdowns.

A fresh start for the young tight end may be exactly what he needs. But, even better, the Kansas City Chiefs may have stolen him for cheap off of the free agent market.
