BAD: ALBERT WILSON’S DROPPED PASS

This is a short entry, but it’s worth noting for sure. In the second quarter, the Chiefs were still in a tight contest with the Dolphins and Smith put his offense in a prime situation to take a big lead.

Smith unleashed a perfect pass down the field to Albert Wilson, but Wilson dropped it. It couldn’t have been a better thrown football and Wilson just dropped it. Had Wilson caught the ball, it would have been a 55 yard touchdown and the Chiefs would have been up by ten points.

Sure it’s easy to look at this play now and think “Who cares?”, but in the playoffs, these are the type of plays that can kill teams. The Chiefs had some issues with drops in this game, but Wilson’s was easily the most painful of them all.

Albert Wilson has had a nice season, so I’m not trying to knock the guy, but he HAS to hang onto the football the next time Smith can throw that kind of a pass his way.
