Fantasy Football 2017: Start Em, Sit Em for Week 16
SIT ‘EM
Charles Clay is one of the more confusing tight ends in the league and this isn’t a week where I’d try him out in a TE1 role. Clay had a nice week against the Dolphins in week 15, but the Patriots have been better against the tight end than Miami has.
Clay’s five catch/68 yard performance against the Fins was promising for fantasy owners, but again, New England is a different breed defensively. They’ve been pretty reliable against the tight end and even with the Bills having a ton to play for, Clay’s match-up isn’t a good one this week.
The Patriots have, for the most part, been able to shut tight ends down and that should continue on in week 16. According to Michael Fabiano of NFL.com,
"The veteran has scored five or fewer PPR points in three of his last four games against the Patriots, and their defense has been decent versus tight ends."
Keep Charles Clay on the bench.
