Royals Rumors: How much money could Royals free agents get
Next up for Heyman is Mike Moustakas, who he put as the fifth top free agent this winter. Heyman predicted Moose would earn a contract for five years at $80 million, which is a nice deal for the third baseman.
Moose had a tremendous 2017 campaign that saw him crush 38 home runs, the most for a Royal in a single season since 1985. The only issue with Moustakas was that he suffered some injuries near the end of the year and his defense wasn’t nearly as good as a result. Here’s what Heyman had to say about Moose,

"After a year in which he set the Royals franchise record for home runs with 38, he should cash in pretty big."
Lorenzo Cain was next on Heyman’s rankings at sixth and Cain was projected to get the same deal as Moustakas, which is a little surprising. Cain will be 32 years old and this deal would take him through age 37 of his career. We’ve seen with Alex Gordon how quickly players can get old and I’d hate to see that happen to Cain.
Cain is still great defensively, however, so for now, he’s worth the dough. The Royals probably won’t shell that out to Cain though due to their scarring from the Gordon contract and the fact that they have other priorities.
"He’s just a terrific all-around player who has been a big part of the Royals success. There doesn’t seem to be much (or any) chance he’ll stay, but there should be plenty of suitors, with the Dodgers, Giants, Mariners and Rangers among the most logical landing spots."
Wade Davis and Greg Holland were part of the top ten of Heyman’s rankings and he even joked that this was a list of Royals and ex-Royals. I found that interesting as well. Neither of those guys will end up in Kansas City, so don’t get your hopes up.
