. SPECIAL TEAMS. B. .

People are going to be calling for this to be an F due to that ugly onside kick, but I didn’t fail them since they were able to get a turnover off of Darren Sproles. Sproles fumbled a punt return and the Chiefs recovered, which put them deep in Eagles territory and allowed them to kick a field goal.

When the opposing team is going to do an onside kick, you HAVE to come up with that football.

Cairo Santos was two for two on field goal attempts and Dustin Colquitt knocked two punts inside the 20 to give the Eagles fits. Those two have proven to be nice pieces in this special teams unit, though Colquitt has shown us that for over a decade.

Now onto that onside kick… That was brutal to watch. When the opposing team is going to do an onside kick, you HAVE to come up with that football. The Eagles had just scored and needed a touchdown to tie things up and send the game into overtime.

Fortunately, Wentz’s final pass of the day went flying out of the back of the end zone, giving Kansas City the victory, but the game didn’t need to come down to the fans sweating it out. It was a rare hiccup for this special teams squad, which has become the best in the entire league.
