Our weekly hot takes are back! The Kansas City Chiefs took on the Philadelphia Eagles in a close game this week. Close games always give the best takes.

When your work requires you to become familiar with the day in and day out workings of the internet, you had better get a sense of humor. That might be more true for a Kansas City Chiefs blogger than anyone else. Especially on game day when the reactions vary from minute to minute. Oh yes, the hot takes are here!

What is a “hot take”, you ask? Well, hot takes are great. They are the best part of the internet for those of us who don’t make hasty judgments. When that fan or analyst lets their emotions get the better of them and let everything flow in a matter of 140 characters, that’s a hot take. A major declaration based upon one game, or even one play, that’s a hot take.

I have found that Chiefs Kingdom excels at hot takes. From the fans to the bloggers, to the radio hosts, and sometimes even the beat writers. Kansas City football brings out the biggest emotions in all of us. An optimistic, yet continuously let down, fan base is prone to emotional outbursts. So the hot takes flow pretty freely in KC.

Coming Off Another Win

Now, the hot takes of a team fresh off a win are usually a little less wild than off a loss. However, it didn’t take me long to find some good ones this week. That may have to do with the fact we played the Eagles, an equally passionate and constantly disappointed fan base.

Things are going well in Kansas City right now, so the fan base is happy. Yet there are still those that are going to look for the downside of everything. Of course, when you have Alex Smith as your quarterback, there will be plenty of hot takes about that alone (more later).

Here are some of the best takes of this past week…
