Dante Hall – Chiefs: “The X Factor”

We start off our list of top Kansas City sports nicknames with one that wasn’t necessarily clever, but was definitely well-deserved. Dante Hall was, in fact, the Chiefs “X Factor” during the Vermeil years.

Dante Hall was a threat every time he touched the ball. His ability to make something out of nothing was jaw dropping. He became such a threat with the ball in his hands that the Chiefs felt they couldn’t limit him to just being a return man. Sounds familiar with how De’Anthony Thomas and Tyreek Hill have been used.

Ultimately, Dante Hall’s time at the top was relatively short. He was a top return man in the NFL for years, but being utilized on offense as well would eventually have its drawbacks. Whether it was over exposure, or just simple wear and tear, he became less effective the more he was used.
