The Kansas Jayhawks All-Time Team: Starting Five

PG: Frank Mason III

Frank Mason just had one of the best years that any point guard has ever had at Kansas. So, obviously Mason would be a prime candidate for this position considering no single player at Kansas has won as many awards as he has. Except maybe Danny Manning.

For his entire career, Frank Mason averaged 13 points, 3.4 rebounds, four assists, and a 45.4 field goal percentage plus a 42 three point percentage per SportsReference. His career will eventually without a doubt get his jersey up in the rafters of Allen Fieldhouse.

Mason never got the National Championship that he so desperately wanted, but for the most part it definitely was not his fault. Even without said championship Mason is still an all-around great player that should play at the NBA level.

He had a tough mentality, probably the toughest to ever touch the hardwood at Allen Fieldhouse. He played his heart out every game, which is why he muscles himself to the top of the starting point guard position of the all-time team.

Frank Mason is no doubt the greatest point guard of the Kansas Jayhawks basketball program in its entirety. One can only dream what it would look like if Mason could return and be the leader of a Jayhawk all-star team.

Frank Mason is the kind of point guard that makes everyone around him better, so making all-stars better than they have ever been would reach a whole new level of player performance. A Jayhawk fan can only dream, right?
