Kansas City Royals Series Grades

Game Two: Royals Lose 3-8

Plain and simple, this was an ugly game all around for the Kansas City Royals. The result of this one never seemed to be the least bit in doubt, and a late rally was doomed to failure. This may have been the worst the Royals have looked all season long. There simply wasn’t anything to like about this game.

GAME TWO. F. No rebound performance here as the Kansas City Royals looked as bad as their record indicates. It would be easy to say they needed a better pitcher performance, but it’s not like the offense gave them much help either.. L. Kansas City Royals

There wasn’t even the slightest hint of effectiveness for the Kansas City pitching staff until the seventh inning. Jason Hammel struggled almost right out of the gate, earning his first loss on the year. It didn’t get much better after that as Travis Wood and Chris Young surrendered a pair of runs each.

On the offensive side of things, there was at least a little bit of life. However, the Royals didn’t really start getting things going until the eighth inning when it was far too late. For the first six innings, Kansas City was simply getting schooled by Andrew Triggs.
