RANKING EVERY CHIEFS GAME FROM 2016 SEASON: NUMBER 4: WEEK 13 VS FALCONS (29-28 WIN VS FALCONS)

Here’s another game that Kansas City had no business winning, but somehow managed to in the final minutes of the game.

The Atlanta Falcons had the best offense in all of the NFL and that seemed to be scary to a large majority of Chiefs Kingdom. Matt Ryan, Julio Jones, Devonta Freeman, you name it, the Falcons had it on offense.

Had the Falcons not gotten cute and just gone for the tie, they probably would have won the game in overtime.

Alex Smith had his best game of the season against Atlanta, throwing for 270 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs defense held Matt Ryan to under 300 yards passing and made him pay in the big moments.

Near the end of the first half, the game was tied. Eric Berry changed that, however, when he picked off Matt Ryan and took it to the house to put the Chiefs up 20-13. The Falcons would go on to kick a field goal and make it a 20-16 game at the half.

Atlanta heated up in the second half, but after Albert Wilson took a fake punt 55 yards for a touchdown. Ryan would then go on to lead the Falcons to two touchdowns in the final quarter.

Had the Falcons not gotten cute and just gone for the tie, they probably would have won the game in overtime. Instead, Atlanta opted to go for two and Berry, once again, came through. Eric Berry picked off Ryan’s two-point conversion pass and ran the ball all the way back to give the Chiefs a one-point win.

This game solidified Berry needing to be extended long-term. He singlehandedly won the game for the Kansas City Chiefs against his hometown Atlanta Falcons.

… as we saw in the Super Bowl though, the Falcons are good at blowing things in big moments. Sounds familiar, right, Chiefs fans?
