Baseball is Family

I cried as I made my way to the stadium and then again reading the beautiful words that Christian Colon wrote about Yordano. Numerous other teammates and baseball players around MLB also poured in their love and support as well.

The guys that have shared a locker room talk about what a great person he was. You can see that for yourself by how he gave back throughout his life. There’s not many things that have the ability to bring people together the way sports do. Even if  you are a fan of a different team, common ground can be found over the love of the game.

Baseball is the perfect metaphor for life. It has its ups and downs, as well as the grind through it moments and lessons. If you stick with it though, the game will give you many beautiful moments.

Yordano Ventura is as responsible for my happiness the past couple of seasons as any other Royal. This city came alive during the 2014 postseason run. That experience was absolutely electric and it doesn’t happen without Ace.

I’ll always be thankful to Yo and the rest of the team for giving me some of the greatest moments of my life. Baseball is a sport that many find boring but, for those of us who love the game it’s life. As fans we feel so close to the players and think of them as family. I cannot even begin to imagine how real family feels right now and my thoughts are with them.

Ace, you were beloved and will be missed by many. Heaven just added another stud to its team.
