General Manager Job Openings

San Francisco 49ers

It’s actually looking like a relatively small market for NFL GM’s this offseason, which is not good news for Kansas City Chiefs Director of Player Personnel Chris Ballard. As of now, the 49ers are the only team to have strongly indicated that they will be making a front office change in 2017. That means it will be a small market for personnel men to compete for.

The San Francisco job is a very attractive one for any potential GM. The 49ers will come into 2017 with over $80 million in salary cap space. That means they will be players for virtually any free agent they want to pursue. San Fran is also set to have the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft. That means the team will have a number of options in how to build their team.

With owner Jed York clearly frustrated with the previous regime, it will fall on the upcoming candidates to really sell him on a plan moving forward. That means you can probably expect the next San Francisco GM to come from a team that has a strong winning culture.

So now that we have our job openings lists, let’s find out more about the Chiefs top candidates for other teams…
