TRAVIS KELCE. B-. . TE. Kansas City Chiefs

The grade for Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce could have been an “A”. In fact, it should have been an “A”. However, a key drop on the Chiefs opening drive is more than enough to drop his grade down quite a bit. While much will be made of the Alex Smith interception, Kelce dropped a pass inside the 10 that should have been a touchdown.

It’s a pretty big blemish on an otherwise very strong day. Travis Kelce went for over 100 yards receiving, including a huge play that got the Chiefs deep in Tampa territory. Unfortunately, that play would be for nothing as it was the same drive that ended in an interception.

Overall, Travis Kelce had a very strong day. However, if we’re going to weigh that interception heavily on Alex Smith, the same has to be done for the Kelce drop. Mistakes like that are the difference between winning and losing in the NFL. That much we should all know from this week’s game.
