Will The Pass Rush Show Up?

It is no secret that the Kansas City Chiefs pass rush has not been effective this year.  Chiefs fans are used to seeing the KC defense get to the quarterback.  However, without Justin Houston in the mix, the Chiefs pass rush just has not been what we are used to.

Some fans are taking the opinion that it is ok.  Last week the Chiefs weren’t getting to Ryan Fitzpatrick, but still managed to grab six interceptions.  I do understand the optimism there, but the truth is that it is far easier for an offense to beat good pass coverage than it is to beat a good pass rush.  Nothing creates instability in an offense like the ability to consistently make the quarterback uncomfortable with the ball in his hand.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have a dangerous offense that can put big points on the board.  The Eagles had a lot of success against Pittsburgh, and it started with pressure on the quarterback.  The Chiefs need to find a way to replicate that if they want to keep the Steeler offense in check this week.
