Second Down: Chiefs Lose…Blame Alex Smith!

Whenever the Kansas City Chiefs lose a football game, it is assured that someone is going to go after quarterback Alex Smith.  Why?  Because Smith plays a conservative style on offense.  It isn’t pleasing to highlight reels and Fantasy Football scores.  Never mind the fact that the Chiefs have been a good team with him at the helm.

Fan reactions change from week to week based on results, so it isn’t a surprise that Smith caught some flak this week.  To be fair, Alex Smith didn’t play a very strong game and the Chiefs offense was unable to find the endzone.  Of course, if you were watching the game, you saw that there were quite a few problems not named “Alex Smith” on the field Sunday.

I guess the honeymoon from last week is over.  Smith was a god in Kansas City all last week.  In fact, I even listed him as a player that must be picked up in Fantasy Football.  Granted, that came back and bit me in the rear…so maybe a bit of a hot take of my own?  However, to call Smith a “joke fore a QB”?  Yeah, that’s a reach when you see what he’s accomplished.
