Bad:  Freshman Kicker Struggles

Freshman field goal kicker, Tucker McCann, seemed more like Tucker McCan’t. He missed two of the three field goal attempts against West Virginia. He shanked a 24 yard field goal wide left after the Missouri Tigers offense came up short after a turnover.

He also struggled in the kickoff game. He averaged 61 yards a kickoff. Touchback’s weren’t much of a factor due to the short distance of the kicks. This led West Virginia into good field position a few times.

The punting unit was hard to watch. Many short punts occurred giving the Mountaineers a short field to work with. This lead to a few touchdowns by West Virginia against a tired and somewhat vulnerable defense.
