Good:  Quarterback Drew Lock Showed Improvement

Sophomore quarterback, Drew Lock, looked better as the game went on. His total numbers on the day were not spectacular but decent. He completed 23 of 51 passes for 280 yards and one touchdown.

Lock even had a career game despite the loss.

This is both good and bad. 280 yards isn’t much of a career high. 51 passes is a few and it’s good to see that Barry Odom isn’t afraid of using this young quarterbacks arm.

One pass he threw for 42 yards down the sideline. It was his best pass all game without a question.

Here’s a GIF showing off the 42 yard perfect throw from Drew Lock to J’Mon Moore.

Missouri Tigers beat reporter, Gabe DeArmond, thought this pass was Lock’s best pass of his career.

That play and a few more should give Missouri Tigers fans a little hope for the future of Lock and the Mizzou Tigers football team.

The best news for Missouri Tigers fans was the fact that the team scored a touchdown. The touchdown came late in the game with 1:49 left in the game and Missouri trailing 26 to 3.

Lock threw an eight yard pass to wide receiver, Chris Black, for the score. This score isn’t meaningless however.

It seemed like the offense couldn’t score at all last year. The Missouri Tigers did not score a touchdown during a three game stretch last season. It’s nice to see the team get into the end zone in game one at least, even though it came in garbage time.
