Special Teams

B-. . . Kansas State Wildcats.

Special teams impressed me in this one. Sure, Matthew McCrane missed a field goal after that long drive to give the team no points, but McCrane has been clutch since 2014. He actually broke a school record with 16 consecutive field goals.

Another impressive play was after the safety when the Wildcats were able to get the ball back after the “safety punt”. That play seemed to have fooled Stanford and gave the Cats another shot at getting back into the game late in the fourth quarter.

I was a little disappointed that we didn’t get to see more of Byron Pringle in the return game, but a lot of the kicks sent his way were knocked out of the end zone, putting the team at the 25-yard line automatically.

I would have liked for this grade to have been a high B, but that missed field goal ended up being crucial in the loss.
