As for the players on the field today for the Kansas City Chiefs, everything comes with a bit of optimism at the start of Training Camp. The immediate good news is that both cornerback Phillip Gaines and wide receiver Mike Williams were both full go after having missed OTAs with injury.
Mike Williams especially made his presence known. The veteran, and once NFL star, receiver looked good in his Chiefs debut, scoring an impressive touchdown grab. WIlliams is one of a handful of veteran players that were signed very cheaply this offseason. If he can make an impact, that will be huge.
"If he can stay healthy, this is an offense he can be very effective in." - Andy Reid on WR Mike Williams

For his own part, Williams expressed a lot of confidence in himself, saying: “I don’t wanna jinx myself, I don’t wanna hype myself…I might be better”. I admire the confidence, but we should all remember that what he did today was largely against rookies.
