Inability to win on the road

The Kansas City Royals are 29-13 at home, which is one of the best home records in all of MLB. Their away record is another story, however, and will definitely end up hurting them in the end.

Simply put – The Kansas City Royals have looked like an entirely different team when they’re playing on the road.

The Royals currently have an abysmal road record of 16-30, good for third worst in the American League and fifth worst in the entire league.

Perhaps the Royals forgot this tidbit already, but the ability to win on the road is important if they want to punch their ticket to the postseason. Last season they went 44-37 on the road and were able to win four road games throughout their postseason run.

Simply put – The Kansas City Royals have looked like an entirely different team when they’re playing on the road. Their pitchers can’t get through a start without allowing a home run (or seven), and the offense can’t hit the baseball for anything.

Not being able to win on the road will cost the Royals a chance to repeat as World Series champs.
