Chiefs on the Cusp of Greatness – Number 4: Travis Kelce

Travis Kelce makes this list simply because he’s already one of the best at his position in the NFL and he’s only 26 years old. Kelce has proven that he’s a force to be reckoned with on the field, racking up 139 receptions for 1,737 yards and ten touchdowns in only two full seasons.

Not since Tony Gonzalez have the Chiefs seen a tight end that can do it all, but they potentially have the second coming of him in Travis Kelce.

Kelce missed his entire rookie season due to being on injured reserve, but he’s easily made up for being absent in 2013. He’s become one of Smith’s favorite targets on the field and is a dominant force to bring down.

Kelce made it to his first Pro Bowl last season and deservingly so. He’s competitive and loves the sport of football.

Like Smith on the best quarterbacks list, Kelce is easily one of the best Chiefs tight ends ever. He’s still young too, which means that he still has an opportunity to get EVEN better. That should be terrifying to other teams because Travis Kelce has already proven that he’s a rising star in the NFL.
