Round 5 | Pick 26: Mike Thomas

For their second fifth round pick, I have the KC Chiefs selecting a wide receiver who appears to be overlooked in my opinion.

Mike Thomas from Southern Miss seriously needs to work on his search engine optimization. I had to dig deep within Google to get any information about this prospect.

Before finding this information, I was directed to two other NFL prospects named Mike Thomas from Ohio State and Arizona. Alex Reno from Pride of Detroit had some nice things to say about him in this draft profile.

From what I can tell, Thomas appears to have good athleticism, size, and catching ability to be a productive wide receiver in the NFL.

Thomas’ poor SEO may be a symptom of playing for a small school with a common name. What if the lack of publicity for Thomas was directly a result of his poor SEO?

What if a team like the KC Chiefs was able to draft a this great prospect in the fifth round because members of the media simply didn’t have access to good scouting information about Thomas? That would be quite a strange turn of events.

If the KC Chiefs can get a receiver like this in the fifth round, then Dorsey would have to give me props. Also, the NCAA may want to pay for athletes to take classes that teach SEO proficiency.
