The Royals have always been a team that lacks the big-time home run hitter or power guy. Last season their designated hitter (Billy Butler) only hit nine total home runs. That’s not very good.
While Kendrys Morales has slugged 21 homers this season, the rest of the team aren’t known for their overwhelming power, and that worries me.
To compete with teams like the Toronto Blue Jays, the Royals are going to need to put up runs. This is even more important when you consider how poor the Royals’ rotation has looked. The Blue Jays have the potential to dominate the Royals’ rotation, and Kansas City’s offense will need to generate runs to stay alive.
