While the KC Chiefs’ secondary was pretty good in 2014, a lot of it had to do with Sean Smith having a career year. The Chiefs also have Phillip Gaines, who will be going into his sophomore campaign, Marcus Cooper, and Ron Parker, who played better in the safety position.

It would be a smart move for Kansas City to draft a corner in the draft and I had them doing so in the third round with Oregon standout Ifo Ekpre-Olomu. Ekpre-Olomu is considered a possible first or second rounder, so when he fell to the Chiefs in the third round, you better believe I snatched him right up.

The most logical explanation for Ifo Ekpre-Olomu’s drop would probably be due to a knee injury he sustained before the Rose Bowl against Florida State. Whether that was the reason for his draft stock falling, I still think this kid is worth taking a risk on.

"Very fluid mover. He can transition like his hips are on a swivel and he has the foot quickness in tight spaces to match. Instinctive and alert. Will transition from man or zone coverage and become a willing tackler against crossing routes that enter his side of the field. Not a robotic defender — adjusts on the fly as plays unfold. Uses the boundary effectively. Doesn’t shy away from tackling. – Lance Zierlein of NFL.com"

While it’d be a steal to get Ifo Ekpre-Olomu in round three, Rob Rang of CBS Sports sees him going in the first round to the Philadelphia Eagles. This would make sense, as Eagles head coach Chip Kelly used to coach at Oregon and knows Ifo from his days there.

Should Ekpre-Olomu fall in the draft, however, don’t be surprised if John Dorsey and company go after him.
