3.) ALEX SMITH IS BACK TO FORM

Smith had a really bad game in week one when he tossed up three interceptions to the Titans defense. As we all know by now, Smith only threw 7 interceptions all last season and protected the football really well.

Since his week one debacle, he’s done a great job of getting back how we was playing last season. He’s making his reads, delivering accurate throws, and taking being aware of the situation at hand.

Smith tossed three touchdowns today and all three were on plays in which he knew exactly what he had. By that I mean he read the defense and found the right mis-match, particularly on Joe McKnight‘s two catches. Smith did a great job of recognizing he had Cameron Wake, an elite pass rusher but average in coverage, matched up with his running back out of the back field.

Smith is a smart quarterback who’s getting into a good rhythm right now.

Alex was decisive and delivered a perfect throw.

There’s a lot of debate on whether he’s worth what he got in terms of money and I’ll leave that for you to discuss but let me just say this, where would the Chiefs be without him? Smith is a smart quarterback who’s getting into a good rhythm right now.

Imagine if they could protect him.
