Minnesota Vikings tight end Kyle Rudolph comes in at #10. Rudolph just signed a brand new five-year extension to stay in Minnesota for a long time, which should make both him and the Vikings very happy. However, in order to make fantasy owners happy, Rudolph must continue to be productive.

Rudolph was on pace for a nice season last year, before breaking his foot halfway through the season. Even though Minnesota had their fair share of below average quarterbacks, he still managed to have a respectable first half of the season.

One thing Rudolph has going for him this year is the lack of receiving weapons the Vikings have. Cordarrelle Patterson, a young player better known for his return abilities, and Greg Jennings, an receiver that is past his prime, are the only receivers worth mentioning in Minnesota.

Another aspect that Rudolph has going for him is new offensive coordinator and former San Diego head coach Norv Turner. Turner’s offenses in San Diego frequently used Antonio Gates, who has a similar body and playing style to Rudolph. This means that Rudolph could potentially put up Gates-type numbers in the near future.

But as mentioned earlier, Rudolph’s success could hinge on the quarterback throwing to him. Matt Cassel appears to be the Week 1 starter, but rookie Teddy Bridgewater could take the reigns at any time. Both have a lot to prove, but have a reliable target available in Rudolph.
