7) Tyler Thigpen (Chiefs QB from 2007-2009)

Some of you probably think Tyler Thigpen should have been lower than Quinn (or maybe even Palko) on this list, but not me. Even though he only won one game while in a Chiefs uniform, I love me some Tyler Thigpen. The dude had skills, he just didn’t have a good team surrounding him (which is odd, when you look at the 2008 roster and see the talented players in KC that year).

Thigpen started the 2008 season as the third string quarterback, but (as expected) Damon Huard and Brodie Croyle both sustained injuries. Thigpen ended up starting 11 games and won one game for the team.

The thing I liked the most about Thigpen was the fact that he could run. He rushed for nearly 400 yards and three touchdowns during the 2008 season. He also tossed for over 2,600 yards and 18 touchdowns to only 12 interceptions.

Thigpen was considered for the starting quarterback position when the 2009 season rolled around, but the team ended up getting good ol’ Matt Cassel. Cassel got the nod to start and somehow Thigpen was behind Brodie on the depth chart when the regular season started. He briefly played in the season opener, but was traded to the Dolphins a few weeks later.

Tyler Thigpen may not get a lot of respect, but I will always be an admirer of him. I hope he beats Johnny Manziel out for the starting spot in Cleveland (yes, I’m aware that won’t happen) because I’d look good in a Thigpen Browns jersey.
