10. Tennessee Volunteers

Last Season: 5-7 (1-7)

Key Addition: Butch Jones

Key Word: Finish

Outlook:

Pig Howard.

There’s no reasoning to stating his name other than it is awesome. Here’s to the kid having a great season so more people can say and type “Pig Howard.”

Tennessee fired head coach Derek Dooley in mid-November and hired Cincinnati head coach Butch Jones. The leap from the Big East to the SEC is a massive one, but Jones is a good coach who should be able to make the necessary adjustment.

Additionally, Tennessee has already seen a bump in recruiting. Rivals has Tennessee as having the second best recruiting class in the country for 2014, so Jones has at least figured out how to recruit on an SEC level.

The question will be how long it takes him to adjust to coaching on the field. He loses a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball in Tyler Bray, Justin Hunter, and Cordarrelle Patterson, which is going to be tough to replace in such a short period of time. Tack on the SEC’s worst defense from a year ago and you have an uphill battle in 2013.
