The Kansas City Chiefs will head into the 2017 season with a first place schedule, and they’ll pay the price for it. The good news, however, is that they’ve solidified themselves as a good team and will likely see plenty of action on primetime television.

After a year in which the KC Chiefs had one of the easier schedules in all of the NFL, the 2017 season will be an entirely different story. The Chiefs will have the second toughest schedule in the entire league this upcoming season (with Denver somehow having the toughest despite finishing in third in the division).

It’s not hard to see how the Chiefs are slated to have one of the more difficult schedules, as the AFC West will be duking it out with the NFC East this upcoming season. Just a year ago, the NFC East was a joke, with the Washington Redskins barely winning the division at 9-7.

Last year, however, the Dallas Cowboys were one of the best teams in the league and the New York Giants were right there with them, defeating them twice on the season.

The Chiefs will have to square off with those two teams as well as the Eagles and Redskins.

They’ll also have to face a first place schedule for the first time since the 2011 season, where they ended up going 7-9. This is an entirely different team from that one, but still something noteworthy for sure.

Kansas City would have had to play the Patriots regardless, as the AFC West and AFC East play each other in 2017 so that one isn’t too bad. The Raiders, Broncos, and Chargers have to play the Super Bowl champs as well next season.

The Chiefs will have to see the Steelers and Texans though, both of which defeated the KC Chiefs in 2017.

With all of these tough games on the schedule, let’s take a look at the games most likely to be put into the primetime spotlight.
