The Kansas City Chiefs pulled out a huge win against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday for their first victory of the season. While it was nice to see our boys in red pull out the W, there are still areas this team needs to improve on drastically.

Here were the improvements I thought needed to be made after the week 2 loss against Denver:

Let’s start with Santos. He’s not on my list this week (at least not on his own) because there are other areas I’m going to touch on, but Santos did make all four extra point attempts for Kansas City. So he has that going for him. It’s worth noting that the Chiefs didn’t attempt a field goal during the game so we don’t know yet if Santos is over his jitters. Only time will tell.

The secondary is still not good, but will also get a break this week from my list. They prevented some big plays from happening and I feel like Sean Smith looked good against his former team.

The pass rush looked great with four sacks and a few batted balls. Dee Ford saw a significant amount of playing time against Miami and made his presence known, making big plays on a 3rd and 17 play and 4th and 1 play later on, the second of which put the game away for good.

So, that was last week. Let’s take a look at the areas that need improvement for next week’s matchup against the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.
