We’re just moments away from the start of the 2014 NFL draft and KC Kingdom would like to welcome you to our  KC Chiefs live draft thread and discussion!

Debate has been raging since the final seconds of that Indianapolis Colts loss about what position the Kansas City Chiefs should be focusing on tonight. Most feel that receiver is the most glaring weakness, while others feel they need to focus on defense. No matter what side you’re on, our staff has worked tirelessly on both sides of the ball to provide scouting reports.

The staff put together the reports, then we centralized links to each through grouping the reports by position. Here is a list of the articles which contain the scouting reports for all the players KC Kingdom scouted by their positions.

Surely, we scouted the player that the Chiefs took first, so when the selection is made, just click the position group above and get an in depth look at our newest player!

All the endless mock drafts, arguments, and rumors will all be laid to rest (FINALLY) tonight when commissioner Roger Goodell takes the podium to announce that first pick.

On that note, lets open up the live discussion below in the comment box. Feel free to touch on all things draft related, as we’ll be logged in from beginning to end.

I’ll start with this; “With the 23rd pick of the 2014 NFL Draft, the Kansas City Chiefs select….?”

  1. Houston TexansJadeveon Clowney. They made the safe pick here and honestly, the right move. Very safe pick and will help their defense tremendously. Keep in mind, they have enough ammo to move back into the first to get a quarterback if one falls.
  2. St. Louis RamsGreg Robinson. Another safe pick, Sammy Watkins would’ve been the sexier pick.
  3. Jacksonville JaguarsBlake Bortles. WOOOOOOOOOW! That’s all I have to say..
  4. Buffalo Bills (Trade with Cleveland Browns) Sammy Watkins, those damn Browns.. I can’t say I look forward to playing the Bills. Robert Woods, Sammy Watkins and Steve Johnson.. Damn
  5. Oakland Raiders- Khalil Mack– The Raiders defense just got a whole lot better. With the addition of Lamaar Woodley, this was the right pick.
  6. Atlanta Falcons- Jake Matthews. The exact pick they needed. Matt Ryan was sacked 44 times last year. No wonder why they had the 6th pick this year.
  7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers- Mike Evans. Excellent pick, it’ll be like McCown never left Chicago with those two big receivers on the outside.
  8. Cleveland Browns (Trade With Vikings)- Justin Gilbert. Another WOW from me.. don’t they already have a pretty good secondary?
  9. Minnesota Vikings- Anthony Barr. Good player and they need help on defense but, you’re gonna roll with Ponder and Cassel as your QB’s?
  10. Detroit Lions- Eric Ebron. WOOOOOW… I don’t know why I continue to be surprised by the NFL draft. Could be a great pick though. Detroit is building that offense up for Stafford.
  11. Tennessee Titans- Taylor Lewan. They need to protect Jake Locker moving forward. They have a nice offensive line building over there in Tennessee.
  12. New York Giants- Odell Beckham Jr. Great pick, as they need more down the field threats for Eli Manning. Now, if they can just protect him.
  13. St. Louis Rams- Aaron Donald. This guy is going to be a their plug. Their defensive line is absolutely devastating with Robert Quinn and Chris Long. Sheesh
  14. Chicago Bears- Kyle Fuller. Exactly what Chicago needed, especially after the loss of Peanut Tillman to free agency.
  15. Pittsburgh Steelers- Ryan Shazier. After the loss of Lamar Woodley to free agency, Shazier will help fill that void. The Steelers are rebuilding that defense the right way.
  16. Dallas Cowboys- Zack Martin. You mean the Cowboys actually made the right pick? Building that offensive line for Tony Romo is exactly what needed to happen here. Good job, Jerry.
  17. Baltimore Ravens- C.J. Mosley. This is a great pick for Baltimore, who’s been looking to replace that spot since Ray Lewis left. You know Ray will be a mentor for him as well.
  18. New York Jets- Calvin Pryor. Damn good pick, sir. Rex Ryan will know exactly what to do with this kid. Has potential to be one of the best safeties in the league as early as next season.
  19. Miami Dolphins- Ja’Wuan James. This is a bit of a force.. But a need to go on the other side of Branden Albert. Still, this is a reach.
  20. New Orleans Saints (Trade With Arizona)- Brandin Cooks. The exact pick they need down in Nola. Kenny Stills struggled to get open last year and Marques Colston isn’t getting any younger. Good pick.
  21. Green Bay Packers- Ha Ha Clinton-Dix. Damn, he almost fell to the Chiefs. Good pick for the Pack, as they need help in the defensive secondary.
  22. Cleveland Browns (Trade With Philly) Johnny Manziel. And there he goes.. Wow, what a draft for the Cleveland Browns.
  23. Kansas City Chiefs- Dee Ford. YES YES YES!!! Great pick! He adds such another level to our defense and adds great depth. Welcome to the team!
  24. Cincinnati Bengals- Darqueze Denard. Great player being added to an already very stingy defense.
  25. San Diego Chargers- Jason Verrett. The Chargers were horrid at corner last season, so this kid falling to them is probably best case scenario for them. Solid pick.
  26. Philadelphia Eagles- Marcus Smith. Philly needed a pass rusher but this is a bit of a reach. Still, he is good value and there isn’t much left out there for what Philly needs.
  27. Arizona Cardinals- Deone Bucannon. Hmmm well I didn’t see this guy getting taken in the first round but he does fill a need for the birds in the desert. They got a good defense building down there.
  28. Carolina PanthersKelvin Benjamin. They had to get a receiver after losing three of their starters to free agency but, I would’ve taken Marqise Lee over him.. We’ll see how this works out.
  29. New England Patriots- Dominique Easley. Belichick loves those Florida defensive players. I understand the pick and could make a difference but his health is in question. Two ACL surgeries, ouch.
  30. San Francisco 49’ers- Jimmie Ward. Second year in a row that the 9’ers take a safety in the first round. Has versatility and could be one of the better picks of the draft. San Fran smart sticking with their defense.
  31. Denver Broncos- Bradley Roby. The Broncos needed another player in the secondary and this guy fell to the perfect spot for them. Hopefully, he’s a huge bust!
  32. Minnesota Vikings (Trade with Seahawks)- Teddy Bridgewater. Excellent pick, as this is far from a reach for this franchise. This kid with Adrian Peterson could be something special.
