Kansas City is one of the best sports towns in the country, and KC Kingdom has a lot of fun bringing you news from around the area for our professional and collegiate teams.

Few fans are as passionate about their teams than Kansas City fans, whether it is making Arrowhead Stadium the loudest outside venue in the world, or filling up Sporting Park each match, or being Royal in Kauffman Stadium. The area also supports three of the most passionate college fan bases in the country.

Each morning, we will try to bring you some news from around our sports kingdom, in addition to the news, information, editorials, and analysis KC Kingdom already provides.

We may also pass along an interesting post or two from around the world wide web, just for fun.

We hope enjoy the news from Around The Kingdom. Happy reading!

Be sure to check out KC Kingdom throughout the day for news on the Chiefs, Royals, Sporting KC, Tigers, Wildcats, and Jayhawks.

On Jug of Snyder, Grant Nicholson discusses the unexpected success of Bruce Weber and the Kansas State Wildcats this past season. It was never an issue if Weber could coach or not, but whether or not he could recruit. His first class was a success. Can he build on that?

"As I’ve said I have never been an ardent supporter of Bruce Weber, and even now I’m not sure that he can put Kansas State into the upper echelon of college basketball programs, but I am cautiously optimistic that he can continue to make Kansas State a Big 12 contender for the coming years for a few reasons."

If you are looking for something that is just fun, check out Arrowhead Addict and Ben Nielsen’s run in with the world of Oakland Raiders fans on twitter. It is some pretty amusing stuff. Well done, Ben! P.S. The Raiders’ fans should just be happy we let them borrow Bo Jackson. Of course, they just ruined him.

On Kings of Kauffman, David Hill wonders if pitching out of the bullpen isn’t the best role for Danny Duffy. The issue with this is that the Kansas City Royals need Danny Duffy to be more than just another power arm in the bullpen. As is obvious with the likes of Luke Hochevar, Wade Davis, Aaron Crow, and Tim Collins, just about anyone with a modicum of skill can have success out of the pen. The Kansas City Royals need Danny Duffy to be a successful starter. If he is just another bullpen guy, then that is a failure by the organization.

Craig Brown on Royals Review had a nice tongue-in-cheek poke at Ned Yost and his managing of the game on Wednesday. He also discussed Mike Moustakas and Danny Duffy coming out of the bullpen.

On WinterIsComing.com, Marc N. Kleinhenz analyzes the differences in the television presentation of the Purple Wedding on HBO’s Game of Thrones, compared to the same scene in the books. For huge fans of of the show and the books, this is a must read. It was a great look at the subtle differences, and maybe some of the reasons behind them.
