The Kansas City Chiefs will gun for their fifth consecutive victory when they host the Houston Texans in Week 16. Early projections are shaping up to be promising for the home team as FanDuel Sportsbook currently has the Chiefs listed as the 3-point favorite ahead of Saturday afternoon's action.

Although the Chiefs' outlook is promising now, things could quickly shift if quarterback Patrick Mahomes is unable to suit up. The three-time Super Bowl MVP is currently dealing with an ankle sprain that he suffered in Sunday's 21-7 win against the Cleveland Browns, leaving his status for the weekend up in the air.

Even if Mahomes isn't 100%, he could push through the pain to give the Chiefs their best shot at beating the Texans. If that's the case, one Houston defender plans to do what he can to make the 29-year-old's life a living hell.

Chiefs News: Texans DT Tim Settle Sets Sights on Patrick Mahomes

If Mahomes is active on Saturday, Texans defensive tackle Tim Settle is feeling confident about his team's upcoming trip to Arrowhead Stadium.

"I feel like I can take advantage of (the Chiefs' offensive line)," Settle told the media on Wednesday morning (h/t @sidelinesarah). "(Mahomes is) a little banged up. I don't know if he's gonna play or not but I hope he's mobile because we coming in Arrowhead."

Settle then proceeded to take an even more direct shot at Mahomes, amplifying the tension.

"(Mahomes) better make a good decision," he added. "I ain't making no threats. I'm making promises."

On one hand, Settle's confidence is somewhat admirable as he's doing his best to hype up his Texans teammates before facing the back-to-back Super Bowl Champions. On the other hand, the Chiefs are likely the last team that players should be giving bulletin board material to.

After all, the Chiefs are a perfect 7-0 at Arrowhead Stadium and are 25-5 SU across their last 30 home games dating back to November 2021. The Texans, meanwhile, are 4-3 on the road this season, which is less impressive given that each of those victories came against teams that have losing records as of Week 16.

For comparison, Houston is 0-2 in away games this season against teams that are currently above .500.

Let's not forget that the Texans haven't defeated the Chiefs since 2019, going 0-3 with a minus-13.3 average scoring margin in the three subsequent clashes.

Including the postseason, Mahomes is also 3-0 in his last three games against the Texans. The Chiefs superstar completed 83-of-108 passes (76.9%) in those contests for 868 yards and 10 touchdowns without throwing a single interception.

In other words, Settle and the rest of Houston's defenders will likely have their hands full on Saturday, regardless of Mahomes' health. The former Virginia Tech product has been productive this season, registering 22 solo tackles and 5.0 sacks in 14 games (8 starts).

At the end of the day, Settle must have a strong showing against the Chiefs. Otherwise, his comments will age like warm milk, likely making him a laughingstock across Kansas City in the process.
