Chiefs News: Andy Reid & Patrick Mahomes Receive Huge Fines for Criticizing NFL Referees
By Joe Summers
Just days after Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes publicly criticized NFL officiating for Kadarius Toney's offsides call in the Chiefs' loss to the Bills in Week 14, the duo has received massive fines.
It was expected that both would be fined to some degree, though these amounts are quite large, indicating the NFL is not happy with Kansas City's two stars.
See the fines below.
NFL Gives Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes Massive Fines
Sheesh, that's a lot of money.
The two are being fined a combined $150,000 for their comments, which were understandable given how poor officiating has been this season.
This has become a significant problem for the league. Something needs to be done, as terrible calls have frequently plagued games all year long. Reid and Mahomes deserved some kind of fine, but the officials need to answer for their actions as well.
Kansas City takes on the New England Patriots in Week 15, hoping to snap a two-game skid. Fingers crossed the referees don't make themselves a big part of the story.
