These Chiefs must be better moving forward

The Chiefs now stand at 8-5, letting another winnable game slip through their grasp due to late offensive struggles.

Frustrations are spilling over and both Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid expressed displeasure with the referees. Kansas City's path to the No. 1 seed now requires a lot of help, and it appears likely Mahomes will have to play a road playoff game for the first time in his career.

It's been quite a day. Following this tough loss, here are three Chiefs on thin ice as we look towards a bounce-back spot against the Patriots next Sunday.

1. Kadarius Toney - WR

Oof, this is now the second game that we can directly point to during which Toney made a critical error that cost the Chiefs a win.

This was the most involved Toney has been in weeks, catching three passes for 25 yards and receiving two carries. He would have had a TD as well in one of the most memorable players in Chiefs history, but was lined up offsides and the Chiefs are losers instead.

It hurts to watch again. What a magical play, ruined by an inconsequential offsides call that didn't need to happen.

We can be mad at the referees all we want, but Mitchell Schwartz is right. This mistake is on Toney, point blank. You simply cannot line up offsides in this situation, and it's painful to know a player of Toney's potential is still making these mistakes.

I hope we keep Toney involved moving forward, but this is a huge blow to his prospects for the rest of the season.
