Kansas City Chiefs Take Best Available In 2016 Mock Draft
By Scott Dillon
The KC Chiefs have done a lot of good things to put themselves in a position to win next season.
Now, they’ll just need to plug in some minor holes, and they have a legitimate shot at contending. It’s nice to see a Chiefs’ team with only one or two real needs for improvement.
Their offense should be better next season even without any additions. Jeremy Maclin has his timing worked out with Alex Smith and Travis Kelce may have only sniffed his potential.
Chris Conley really came on in the final few games of the season and may have matured during the playoffs. They’re also getting one of the fastest weapons in the league back with Jamaal Charles. Adding a couple more weapons not only makes them better, but gives them the depth they need should a player go down.

On defense, there is probably a big need in the defensive backfield. Sean Smith leaving is going to hurt a little bit, but the Chiefs have options. This is a pretty deep draft in the cornerback department and the Chiefs may get another quality cornerback this season.

The Kansas City Chiefs still have some work to do this off-season but not nearly as much as in years past. If they continue to spend wisely in free agency, and find some good picks in the draft, they should put out one of the most complete teams they’ve had in a long time.
