KC Chiefs Select Local Product In 2016 NFL Mock Draft
By Scott Dillon
The KC Chiefs are bound to lose some players in free agency. What players can plug some holes in this mock draft?
The KC Chiefs are going to have some holes to fill once free agency gets underway. They’ve already retained Eric Berry by placing the franchise tag on him. They’re going to try and lock up some other key free agents as well but likely can’t retain all of them.
The draft is a cheaper alternative to signing some of these players long-term. Jaye Howard, for example, is likely to cost the Chiefs a double digit annual salary. With a deep defensive tackle class this year, the Chiefs have options at filling that potential hole. But who will they select to fill it?
I used Fanspeak’s On the Clock NFL Mock Draft Simulator and used Matt Miller’s big board through Bleacher Report.
The KC Chiefs have eight total picks in this years draft including two in the fifth round. Unless they make a trade, they’ll have a pick in each round this year.
The Chiefs ended this mock drafting five players on offense and three on defense. Not all of them are likely to make an immediate impact, but some of them could find their way into the lineup quickly.
