KC Chiefs News: Offseason and the Draft

facebooktwitterreddit

KC Chiefs news surrounds the offseason and the 2016 NFL Draft. The Chiefs have several free agents hitting the market, and they also hold the 28th overall pick in the draft.

For some, the NFL offseason can be brutal. It means a long six months without football and having to rely on March Madness and baseball to get us to NFL preseason.

The good part about the offseason means that new blood will be joining the team in one way or another. There’s free agency, which brings in players from other teams, and then there’s the draft, which brings the young college players up to the big leagues.

Both of these methods are critical in building a team that can make it to the playoffs and win a championship. The Chiefs have added some big names in free agency in the past, such as Jeremy Maclin and Alex Smith, but they’ll have a lot of guys hitting the open market shortly.

Hopefully, the Kansas City Chiefs can go out and re-sign some of their strongest guys and also get some solid players from other teams. The team also has the ability to draft whatever position they feel like in the first round, as there aren’t many immediate roles the Chiefs need to fill.
