KC Royals News: All-Star Game And The Best Record

facebooktwitterreddit

This week KC Royals news has been centered around all-star voting. Sure, they dropped the first game of the I-70 Series to St. Louis Friday night, after sweeping the Twins in Minnesota to capture the best record in the American League, but that is not what fans are talking about.

After dominating the all-star voting to the tune of seven starters, the Royals started gaining some national attention. Not all of it was positive, so Royals fan Dane Callstrom decided to fire back.

The die-hard Royals fan put together a video on why the Royals deserve to start if they are voted-in. That leads to the discussion of whether or not Omar Infante really deserves the starting spot, and if it might hurt the chances of super reliever Wade Davis making the team.

Even with all the all-star talk, the Royals have regular season ball games to play. After a rough stretch, the Royals completed the Twins’ sweep Wednesday, but fell to St. Louis, 4-0 in their series-opening game Friday. Despite that fact, they still own the league’s best record at 34-24.

KC Royals: If Fans Say So, Omar Infante Should Start The All-Star Game [KC Kingdom]

"Omar Infante is having an awful season for the KC Royals. Both in terms of old school stats (.216 batting average, 17 RBI), and new school numbers (.301 slugging, .526 OPS), he’s only been slightly better than everyone reading this article — assuming Mike Trout hasn’t seen it yet."

Kansas City Royals Fans Embrace True Nature of ASG [Kings of Kauffman]

"Everyone loves a good zero to hero story.  Until the zero wants to stay the hero. The Kansas City Royals were the Cinderella story of last year’s Postseason, earning the hearts of minds of baseball fans with a youthful gusto and emotion, but even the players would agree that the defending 2014 AL Champs would enter 2015 with a target painted on their backs."
