KC Royals News: All-Star Game Voting And MLB Draft
KC Royals news is much more positive recently, as the boys in blue have won two straight games against worthy opponents. The Royals also lead the All-Star Game voting with seven of their players currently slated to start in the big game. Kansas City also had two first round picks in the MLB Draft on Monday evening.
The Kansas City Royals haven’t had the greatest few weeks recently, but they seem to be back on track now. For one, they’ve won two straight games and seem to be on the right type of streak at the moment. Second, the Royals have seven guys currently leading their positions for the All-Star Game, meaning they’d all be starting at said position.

Those seven guys are Lorenzo Cain, Alcides Escobar, Alex Gordon, Eric Hosmer, Kendrys Morales, Mike Moustakas, and Salvador Perez, all of whom cases could be made to at least play in the game. The funnier part of this (well depends how you look at it) is that Omar Infante and Alex Rios are both close in their positions to making the game despite one not playing well, and another being out for over a month.
This dedication from KC Royals fans is nice to see, but fans need to remember that the All-Star Game means something. The winning team has home field advantage during the World Series so if the Royals plan to make it back to the World Series and want to have Games 1, 2, 6, and 7 at Kauffman Stadium, fans need to start giving the American League the best team possible so that they can take the All-Star Game.
The MLB Draft took place on Monday evening, and the Kansas City Royals landed themselves two right-handed pitchers out of the state of Indiana in the first round in Ashe Russell and Nolan Watson. With the news of Kyle Zimmer yet again injuring himself, it definitely doesn’t hurt to add possible future talent.
