Kansas Jayhawks: Meet Cheick Diallo And Carlton Bragg

facebooktwitterreddit

The Kansas Jayhawks have added two recruits for next season, both interior players.

With the recent commitments of Cheick Diallo and Carlton Bragg to the Kansas Jayhawks, the offense could be one of the best next season. Both are in the 247 sports top 25,  giving them the 19th best recruiting class in 2015. Both are McDonald’s All-Americans with Diallo being the MVP of the game.

They should also help on defense and on the backboards, not to mention the depth they will add to the interior.

Here is your chance to get to know Cheick Diallo and Carlton Bragg just a little bit.

Cheick Diallo

Cheick Diallo brings so many attributes to the table because of his work horse motor and unbelievable offensive and defensive talent. Coming out of Our Savior American School in Centereach, New York, he recently just signed his letter of intent which makes it official.

He received the MVP in both the McDonald’s all-American game in Chicago and the Jordan Brand Classic in New York City, despite his team losing. Nothing but great things have been said about Diallo.

He likes to model his game after former Jayhawk Joel Embiid, which was a huge key to his decision. Only playing basketball for a couple years after moving from Mali, Diallo has raised the level of his game tremendously.

His 6’9″ height gives him that much more of an edge. Look for Cheick to be in line to win freshman of the year award.

Carlton Bragg

Carlton Bragg is a 6’8″ power forward from Villa Angela-St. Joseph High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He is a happy go lucky kid who smiles 24/7. Coach Bill Self loves not only his game but his personality.

He’s a sharp shooting big man who can post up in the paint as well as put points up beyond the three point line. Bragg was also a McDoanld’s All-American just like Diallo. Now that Diallo has signed, people are bringing the spotlight away from Bragg.

DO NOT forget about him as he will be a major role player off the bench for KU. He could easily compete for the small forward spot with sophomore Sviatoslov Mykhailiuk.

The Kansas Jayhawks will be going for their twelfth straight Big 12 Conference, and Cheick Diallo and Carlton Bragg should play intricate roles next season.

Now, the waiting continues as everyone waits to see who Bill Self will add to this recruiting class.
