2015 NFL Draft: KC Chiefs Inside Linebacker Scouting Central

Most pundits believe that the KC Chiefs will focus on offensive lineman and wide receivers in the early rounds of the draft, and while those positions are very likely don’t be surprised if the Chiefs try to bolster their rush defense by drafting an inside linebacker.
The KC Chiefs have four of the first 100 picks in the draft including the 18th (first round), 49th (second round), 80th (third round), and 98th (third round) and could afford to use one on an inside linebacker.
The sweet spot for inside linebacker seems to be in the second and third round which is fortunate for the KC Chiefs as they have three picks in those two rounds.
There are five inside linebackers rated in the top 100 prospects entering the draft which gives the KC Chiefs a pretty good chance to have the opportunity to select one of them.
Eric Kendricks out of UCLA is listed as the 40th best overall prospect, and is the top rated inside linebacker in the draft.
Benardrick McKinney out of Mississippi State is listed as the 50th best overall prospect, and is the second rated inside linebacker in the draft.
Stephone Anthony out of Clemson is listed as the 69th best overall prospect, and the third best inside linebacker in the draft.
Paul Dawson out of TCU is listed as the 81st best overall prospect, and the fourth best inside linebacker in the draft.
Denzel Perryman out of Miami is listed as the 85th best overall prospect, and the fifth best inside linebacker in the draft.

If the KC Chiefs do decide to select an inside linebacker in the draft they will be given the opportunity to compete with the inside linebackers already on the roster including Derrick Johnson, Josh Mauga, and James-Michael Johnson.
