Wide Receiver Nick Harwell of the Kansas Jayhawks has finished his college career and moved his aspirations on to the 2015 NFL Draft. Harwell was not a big name player, and he played on a disappointing team, but he still hopes to have his name called come draft day.

2010

Nick Harwell began his collegiate career in 2010 with Miami (Ohio) in the Mid-American Conference. He had a big Freshman season with 64 Receptions, 871 Yards, and six Touchdowns receiving.

The young freshman had 11 catches for 219 yards against Ohio to set Miami’s single game record for yardage.

2011

Harwell was able to build on his performance from his Freshman season going into his 2011 Sophomore season at Miami.

His Sophomore season was a record breaking one. He broke Miami’s record for Receptions with 97, Yards with 1425, and Touchdowns with 9. He was able to do all that in only eleven games.

He also broke his own Miami single game yardage record, and also broke the schools single game receptions record when he had 15 Receptions, 229 Yards, and two Touchdowns against Temple.

Harwell earned First Team All-MAC Honors, was named to the Biletnikoff Award watch list, and was an honorable mention All-American by Sports Illustrated.

2012

Harwell seemed to regress back to his Freshman form in his 2011 Junior season, and the statistics were very similar. He finished with 68 Receptions, 870 Yards, and eight Touchdowns in nine games.

He tied Miam’s record of most 100 yard receiving games in school history with 15. He also earned Second Team All-MAC Honors.

2013

After being a star Wide Receiver at Miami and recording 229 Receptions, 3,166 Yards, and 23 Touchdowns, Harwell was dismissed from the program due to off the field issues.

He transferred to the Kansas Jayhawks and was forced to redshirt for the 2013 season.

2014

Harwell was voted a Team Captain and began his career at Kansas with high expectations, but it was questioned that his performance came from playing in the Mid-American Conference, which is looked at as a lesser Conference.

He was unable to continue his early season pace and only scored three Touchdowns the remainder of the season. He finished with 44 receptions, 470 Yards, and three Touchdowns.

Harwell is not currently projected to be drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft, but he can certainly still improve his stock by showing improved speed at the NFL Combine.

If Harwell isn’t drafted in the 2015 NFL Draft he still has hope to make it on an NFL roster as an Undrafted Free Agent.
