The Kansas City Chiefs are about to start their journey for a third straight Super Bowl title on Sept. 5 when they take on the Baltimore Ravens at Arrowhead Stadium.

They will be getting everyone's best punch so they are making sure that this group is ready to roll this fall. On Monday, the Chiefs made a surprising addition that may have signaled the end of the Kadarius Toney experiment in Kansas City.

Chiefs News: Kansas City Re-Signs Juju Smith-Schuster

According to Jordan Schultz, the Chiefs are going to bring back wide receiver Juju Smith-Schuster. He now joins a crowded wide receiver room that already has Marquise Brown, Rashee Rice, Xavier Worthy, Mecole Hardman, Justin Watson, and more.

This late addition could spell the end of Toney being in Kansas City. He's struggled throughout his two-year run with the Chiefs that has been headlined by injuries and some disputes with the coaching staff, causing him to get benched on multiple occasions.

His underwhelming play has carried over into the summer, where he committed two penalties on his first preseason snap.

During his two seasons with the Chiefs, Toney has only recorded 41 receptions for 340 yards, and three touchdowns.

The Chiefs tried to give him time to develop and find a consistent role within the offense but the Florida product has failed to seize the opportunity.

He's watched as guys like Justyn Ross take advantage of their practice reps and gain the trust of the coaching staff.

As for Toney, when he steps on the field, he isn't building his case to make the 53-man roster and the odds of him making the team continue to look slimmer and slimmer.
