Chiefs DE Charles Omenihu is stunned by the Eagles' recent acquisition of 2022 first-round WR Jahan Dotson, posting to social media to declare his shock.

Dotson felt like the perfect fit for Kansas City's receiver room and while this may represent a missed opportunity for Brett Veach, Omenihu's response is a bit of a surprise either way.

Poor decisions are nothing out of the ordinary for the Washington Commanders, yet giving up so soon on a recent 2022 first-round pick still rasied eyebrows.

Charles Omenihu Surprised at Washington's Jahan Dotson Trade

"Why would the Commanders do that" is basically the franchise's motto for the last decade. Washington is the NFL's laughingstock, rivaled only by the Las Vegas Raiders, yet they seemingly bungle routine decisions with such consistency that these mistakes should be expected.

The larger question is why the Chiefs weren't interested in sending a modest trade package like the Eagles did. Veach and the coaching staff seem comfortable with the organization's receivers, though fans wisely question the back-end talent at the position.

Perhaps the Commanders were unwilling to work with the Chiefs, or maybe Veach wasn't willing to pay what Eagles general manager Howie Roseman was.

Whatever the reason, it's quite the confusing move from Washington. Jayden Daniels looks like a potential star. Even still, his franchise seems determined to make his life as difficult as possible as he transitions from the collegiate level to the professional one.

Omenihu is due back in the middle of the season, potentially against the aforementioned Raiders. His focus will be on the Chiefs assuredly, but it's still humorous to think about how Kansas City's locker room reacts to nonsensical decisions like this one.
