Chiefs Get Surprise Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu Injury News Before Bills Game
By Joe Summers
The Chiefs received a major piece of injury news on Tuesday ahead of a Week 11 matchup with the Bills, as the team will reportedly designate RB Isiah Pacheco and DE Charles Omenihu to return from the injured reserve list this week.
Once the move is official, the two will have a 21-day window to practice and return to game action. They likely won't play on Sunday, yet we now have a specific timetable for their respective returns.
Andy Reid had said on Monday that Pacheco would come back soon and Omenihu suggested as much for himself on social media, making this a logical step in the process. Nonetheless, it's a fantastic development for the 9-0 Chiefs.
Chiefs Reportedly Designate Isiah Pacheco and Charles Omenihu to Return From Injury
Injuries have been the story of Kansas City's season. Pacheco, Omenihu, Rashee Rice, Hollywood Brown, Jaylen Watson, and more have all missed time for the two-time defending Super Bowl champions.
That the Chiefs are still undefeated speaks to their depth, leadership, and coaching. It's truly remarkable. The rest of the NFL should be absolutely terrified about how good this squad can become, especially considering the impacts that Pacheco and Omenihu both make.
Pacheco is one of the better RBs in the league and a focal point of the offense, while Omenihu had seven sacks in 11 games last season. Kareem Hunt has filled in admirably, though Kansas City's backfield becomes significantly more dangerous if you throw Pacheco into the mix as well.
The Chiefs play the miserable Panthers in Week 12. They don't need Pacheco or Omenihu to win that game, making the Week 13 contest with the Raiders on November 29 the more likely return date.
We'll find out soon, but this is a tremendous development for Kansas City's bid for a three-peat either way.
