Chiefs DE Charles Omenihu sounds like he's gearing up for a return from the torn ACL he suffered in the AFC Championship last year. Based on his most recent social media posts, his rehab is progressing smoothly.

Omenihu had initially targeted roughly the halfway point of the season. His previous posts suggested he could be eyeing a Raiders game, which could make Week 13 a logical time. Head coach Andy Reid has said that while Omenihu isn't practicing, he's close to making his season debut.

Kansas City's defense is still perhaps the NFL's best but there's no denying how dangerous the defensive line could be once Omenihu's back.

Chiefs DE Charles Omenihu Suggests Return is Near

In promoting his YouTube channel, Omenihu said "The time is approaching" with a suggestive post. He's active on social media and has been adamant about how badly he wants to play again.

As a pending free agent, Omenihu knows he has to quickly produce to earn a big contract in the offseason. It may not come from the Chiefs, but Omenihu can still make himself a pretty penny if he's anywhere close to the level he played at in 2023.

After serving a six-game suspension for domestic violence, Omenihu made an immediate impact. He had seven sacks in 11 games and notched a strip-sack on Lamar Jackson when he got injured. Alongside Chris Jones, Omenihu helps form a formidable defensive front that destroyed offenses last year.

It's been a long road to recovery for Omenihu, though he's nearly completed it. Once he's on the field again, it's hard to imagine how anyone could stop the Chiefs.
